Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Agrees to Issue 50% Right Shares to NIC Asia Bank

Kathmandu. NIC Asia Bank has received prior approval from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to issue right shares.

The central bank has sent a letter to NIC Asia Bank on May 30 agreeing to issue right shares. The board of directors of NIC Asia Bank had decided to apply to Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for the issuance of 50 percent right shares in the ratio of 2:1 of the current paid-up capital of Rs 14.91 billion.

Now, the bank will start the process of issuing 7,45,87,835 units right shares worth Rs 7.45 billion to its shareholders. According to this, the bank will approve the agenda of issuing right shares on June 3, 2081. The 28th annual general meeting of the 1982 is scheduled to be held.

After the approval of the AGM, the bank will apply to the Securities Board of Nepal to bring the right shares.

The bank has decided to close its book on May 20 for the purpose of the AGM. This means that only the shareholders who have remained in the bank till May 5 will be eligible to participate in the AGM.
