Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the banks to open separate bank accounts for the upcoming general elections.
The central bank has issued a circular to the banks and financial institutions of class A, B and C. The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is going to make this arrangement at the request of the Election Commission.
The circular directs the banks to make arrangements for each political party, candidates representing these parties (including proportional representation) and independent candidates to open a separate bank account on the recommendation of the Provincial Election Office or District Election Office until the Election Commission decides to close their bank accounts g.
In the case of bank accounts to be opened in this way, the NRB has issued the Integrated Directive for Banks and Financial Institutions, 2082. Point No. 21 The circular states that the banks and financial institutions in Province 45 will not be able to get more than one account of the same nature in the name of a natural person.
