Kathmandu. The government has decided to declare a public holiday on September 23 to mark the completion of one year of the Genji movement. Meanwhile, Nepal Rastra Bank has directed banks and financial institutions to continue essential banking services to facilitate relief distribution and rescue operations to those affected by natural disasters in Rasuwa and other districts.
The Department of Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation has issued a notice directing all licensed ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ category banks and financial institutions to provide essential services. The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued this directive to banks and financial institutions so that financial transactions are not disrupted during the time of disaster and the affected people can get relief on time.
