Nepal Life organizes training on AML/CFT

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has successfully conducted a special training programme on anti-money laundering, terrorist activities and financing of weapons of mass destruction in Kathmandu.

Director of Nepal Rastra Bank and an expert in the field of money laundering prevention, Dr. Hari Kumar Nepal presented on the current national and international legal provisions in the insurance sector and its practical implementation.

The training was attended by the company’s Board of Directors, Fundamental Shareholders, top management and departmental heads.

Instructor Dr. Nepal provided detailed information about the legal provisions related to AML/CFT/CPF, regulatory directives, risk identification and management, customer identification process, suspicious transaction identification and activities being carried out internationally.

On the occasion, the company’s director Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal said that corporate governance, risk management, and AML/CFT compliance are very important aspects for the long-term sustainability of the company.

Pravin Raman Parajuli, CEO of the company, emphasized the importance of practical implementation of the prevailing laws related to AML/CFT/CPF and said that the regulatory requirements are being effectively implemented not only at the policy level but also in the day-to-day functioning.

The training has helped in reducing financial crimes, strengthening corporate governance and financial transparency.

KATHMANDU: Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has pledged to continue such capacity building programs to further strengthen the financial discipline, risk management and compliance, prevention of money laundering, terrorist activities and financing in the manufacture or expansion of weapons of mass destruction.
