Kathmandu. Nepal Medical College and National Medical College, Birgunj have jointly donated Rs 75 lakh to the flood-affected families of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Standing with the people affected by the natural disaster, the National Medical College and Nepal Medical College jointly handed over the amount to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
On Monday, a team led by Prof. Dr. Zainuddin Ansari, president of Nepal Medical College and National Medical College, reached the Ministry of Finance and handed over the relief amount to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. The two medical colleges have deposited Rs 75 lakh in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund with the aim of supporting the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods and landslides in Rasuwa. Sabiha Yasmin said.
“In this difficult situation, we all should join hands with the state, if the people are suffering in any part of the country, we should also cooperate from our respective areas. We are ready to provide any kind of support to the state.” Dr. Yasmin said that the managing director of Nepal Medical College. Yasmin said.
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle also appreciated the contribution made by the two medical colleges. Finance Minister Wagle said that every citizen should contribute as much as he or she can at a time when the country is in crisis.
These colleges have provided institutional support with the belief that along with the responsibility of providing health services, they should be responsible towards the society in times of disaster. Both the medical colleges have pledged to continue the spirit of humanitarian service, saying that not only financial assistance but also cooperation and solidarity between health institutions, health workers and the community is important during the time of disaster.
This joint initiative of the two health institutions has also highlighted the social role that the private health sector can play in times of disaster. This contribution has been made with the aim of providing necessary assistance by joining hands with the efforts of the state to normalize the lives of the affected citizens.
KATHMANDU: National Medical College, Birgunj and Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu have pledged to continue their cooperation and contribution in humanitarian and social service as per the need and situation of the people affected by the disaster in different parts of the country.
