Kathmandu. Narendra Ballabh Panta has announced his candidacy for the post of Vice President of Independent Power Producers’ Association (IPPAN). IPPAN’s annual general meeting to be held on June 29 will elect a new working committee.
Energy and construction entrepreneur Panta has filed his candidacy for the post of vice-president from the panel of senior vice-president candidate Uttam Bhyol Lama. Pant, who is also the treasurer of the current working committee of IPPAN, has been the talk of the town in the energy sector.
Energy entrepreneurs say that Pant has played a big role in making IPPAN policy-wise and financially strong by organizing hydropower companies.
Panta is also the chairman of 22.5 MW Thulo Khola Hydropower Limited. Panta has been developing 10 MW United Modi Hydro Power Limited, 8 MW Taksar Pikhuwakhola Hydropower Project and 50 MW United Mewa Hydro Limited.
Panta is also the chairman of the Energy Committee of Nepal Chamber of Commerce. Pant is also the chairman of Dev Group, which has investments in construction, hydropower and investment companies.
Energy youth entrepreneur Pant has established himself well in the field of construction of hydropower projects. He said that he is a strong contender for the post of vice-president of IPPAN due to his 20 years of experience in the field. Pant is confident that hydropower entrepreneurs will support him as he is eligible for the post of vice-president.
Pant has a plan to solve the problems faced by the producers in the hydropower sector. He claimed that only the energy sector would develop the country in the coming days.
