Kathmandu. A NADA delegation led by its Chairman Surendra Kumar Upreti held a meeting with Suresh Prasad Kafle, the newly-appointed chief of the Kathmandu Traffic Police Office, Kathmandu on June 15 and held discussions on various problems surfaced in the context of traffic management in the Kathmandu Valley.
During the discussion, Kafle, the newly appointed chief of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, said that the office and NADA should work together on creative and long-term issues. At the same time, he also complained that the big glass bikes used to run in the hilly areas are also plying in Kathmandu city.
In this context, he said that NADA should conduct traffic awareness programs in the capital. (B.) x. He also said that initiatives should be taken for the arrangement of traffic lights with technology. He urged the government to make arrangements for every customer buying vehicles, service centre and first-time driving license to take short training of about one hour duration from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
During the discussion, NADA President Upreti talked about the cooperation that NADA has done with the office in the past. During the discussion, he informed that NADA is going to celebrate its 50th Annual General Meeting (Golden Jubilee) with various programs in Kathmandu from Asar 13 to 19, 2083 BS and urged for necessary support to make the program more grand and effective.
On the occasion, NADA President Uprety said that NADA will organize a traffic awareness program through stickers.
During the discussion, NADA General Secretary Milan Babu Malla said that NADA wanted to move ahead in collaboration with the office as it has been working with the office for a long time. NADA Vice President Bikram Singhania, Secretary Meghraj Poudel and Treasurer Pankaj Agrawal also expressed their views during the discussion.
