NADA delegation and Director General of Department of Commerce hold discussion

Kathmandu. A NADA delegation held a detailed discussion with Director General of Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection Roshan Gyawali regarding the press release published by the Department regarding pasting stickers with maximum price list on automobile items. The NADA delegation has drawn the attention of NADA to the press release issued by the Department of Commerce on 2082-12/30, 2082 and has appreciated the provision of compulsorily mentioning the maximum retail price of all the goods imported from abroad and the provision of issuing invoices while selling goods.

In this context, NADA has also submitted a letter in writing for more clarification, putting forth various concerns and curiosities, and has also requested for a solution. While discussing the issues mentioned in the press release issued by the Department with the NADA delegation, the NADA delegation present asked how to make the mentioned issues practical and implementable, what to do about the goods in the old stock? NADA has always been officially promoting fair trade and transparency business, saying how practical is the provision of pasting stickers at the customs point.

During the discussion, Director General Gyawali said that the provision of Consumer Protection Act-2035 BS has been implemented and the Department is committed to implement this issue with priority in the 100-point government plan of the incumbent government.

In this context, Director General Gyawali assured that the department is ready to remove the obstacles in its implementation and said that there should be a commitment from the entrepreneurs for its implementation. In this connection, Director General Gyawali said that the Department would be stern towards the industry and importers regarding pasting the best price list with stickers.

The meeting was attended by Vice-President Bikram Singhania, General Secretary Milan Babu Malla, Secretary Meghraj Poudel, Treasurer Pankaj Agrawal, Joint Treasurer Nilamani Pathak, Central Working Committee Member and Spare Parts Committee Chairman Dipendra Kumar Mishra and Central Working Committee Member Narayan Prasad Poudel.
