Kathmandu. If the loan is misused, there is a provision of imprisonment in the case of banking offense.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a public awareness notice today. “The misuse of loan is considered a banking offense as per the Banking Offences and Punishment Act, 2064,” the NRB has stated, adding, “If anyone commits such an act, the amount of the loan can be repaid as per the provision of sub-section 2 of the Act.” ’
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made it clear that the borrower should use the loan only for the purpose for which the loan facility has been availed from the banks and financial institutions. The central bank has stated that the loan should not be misused by using or using it for the specified purpose.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has advised the banks to utilize the loans taken by them to avoid banking frauds.
