Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Miss Tourism Queen World Wide pageant is going to be held with the objective of promoting Nepal’s culture and tourism. Organizing a press conference in Bhaktapur on Saturday, SSK Media informed that the tournament will be held in Kathmandu on May 2.
Speaking at the press conference, NSK Media Chairman Santosh Silwal said that the pageant aims to attract foreign tourists by showcasing Nepal’s various costumes, art, culture and language. According to him, the participants of the competition will be taken around different places and informed about Nepal by providing various information about Nepal.
Girls between the ages of 16 and 29 can participate in the competition. A minimum of 25 people will be participating in the competition. According to him, this is the first tournament of its kind in Nepal.
Mr. Model of the World 2018 Dikpal Karki said that the program aims to promote Nepal in the international arena. He clarified that the beauty pageant would be organized with the objective of preserving the unique art and culture.
According to the organizers, such events are expected to showcase Nepal, which is full of natural beauty, cultural diversity and historical heritage, to the world in a more effective manner.
The championship is expected to contribute significantly to the preservation and publicity of the country’s unique identity, tradition and culture. The winner of the pageant will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with an opportunity to participate in an international level beauty pageant.
The first runner-up of the tournament will be awarded with Rs 25,000 along with various prizes and an opportunity to visit Pokhara for their family. In addition, all participants will be provided with free Isles or Japanese language classes and free computer training.
The main attractions of the event will be Miss Nepal 2005 Sugarika KC, Mister Model of the World 2018 Dikpal Karki, famous singer Ananda Karki and special foreign guests Ryo Sakaguchi along with her fashion team.
There will also be various cultural performances reflecting Nepal’s unique culture and special attire. According to the organizers, the competition aims to contribute to the development of tourism sector by promoting Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural diversity and historical heritages in the international arena.
The participants will undergo a 15-day training. During the course of the training, the participants will be given a tour of various tourist areas of Nepal, a photoshoot and a tourism related class will be conducted.
To participate in the competition, one has to pay five thousand rupees per contestant. The program will have Facial House as the Make Partner and Megatek Value Education Consultancy as the Education Partner. In addition, other sponsors will be added gradually, according to the organizers.
