Kathmandu. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is preparing to cut a large number of employees.
Meta will begin cutting staff after May 20. Meta plans to lay off about 10 percent of the global workforce. About 8,000 people will lose their jobs.
The cuts are Meta’s biggest since restructuring in late 2022 and early 2023.
According to a Reuters report, Meta may cut some more employees by the end of this year.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is currently investing billions of dollars in artificial intelligence (NI). The company believes that due to the increasing capabilities of AI, there will be less hierarchical management in the future and the work will be even more difficult with the help of NI. –Agency
