Kathmandu. Today is Mata Tirtha Aunsi. The birth mother is being celebrated throughout the country with reverence, devotion and respect. In this festival, which is celebrated on the day of Baisakh Krishna Aunsi, it is customary to take a bath in the morning, purify herself, dress her in beautiful clothes and take blessings by feeding her sweet and strong food.
Those who do not have a mother remember their mother by performing her shraddha. There is a classical belief that by doing this, you will get rid of the mother’s debt. In the scriptures, the place of the mother is considered to be higher than the Supreme Soul.
Mother is considered to be greater than Pandit, Acharya and father. In order to repay the debt to the ancestors, the mother and father should be kept respectfully happy while alive and Shraddha should be performed with reverence after death.
