Market monitoring to be effective to prevent black marketing of sugar after India bans export

Kathmandu. The government has decided to make market monitoring effective to prevent shortage of sugar. The decision was taken after the Indian government banned the export of sugar.

Issuing a press release, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has drawn the attention of the Government of India to the policy changes in the export of sugar. “In view of this situation, the Ministry has been carrying out necessary works prioritizing the interest of consumers, stability of market price and easy availability of sugar,” the statement said. ’

According to the press release, the sugar in stock is sufficient to meet the demand of around 8 months from the Food Management and Trading Company, Salt Trading Corporation and other companies. “The Ministry will make arrangements for the strict implementation of the existing laws to control such activities by making market monitoring, supply management and institutional and hierarchical coordination by its subordinate bodies more effective,” reads the statement adding that the government is effortful to control the competitive capacity of sugar production for self-reliance on sugar in the long term It is done.
