Kathmandu. Manohar Das has been elected the chairman of the board of directors of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited.
He was unanimously elected to the post of president in the ninth and tenth annual general meeting of the association held on June 9, 2083. Prior to this, he had successfully served as the vice-president of the association. The term of the chairman will be for the next 2 years.
Similarly, Mr. Manohar Das Mul (Chairman, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited), Mr. Azad Shrestha (Chairman, United Ajod Insurance Company Limited), Mr. Mahendra Krishna Shrestha (General Secretary, Mr. Himalayan Everest Insurance), Mr. Ramesh Kumar Niraula (Chairman, Neco Insurance) and Mr. Kunal Kayal (Chairman, Sanima GIC Insurance) have been appointed as the members of the committee. The meeting also decided to invite outgoing president Rajendra Malla to the working committee in recognition of his contribution.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University with two decades of experience in the field of non-life insurance. He has been contributing significantly to the economic sector of the country through various industries and business activities along with the insurance sector.
He is currently the president of Nepal Paper Dealers’ Association, executive member of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and president of Nepal Tennis Association. He has also served as the Chairman of Board of Directors of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited since March 12, 2022.
Speaking after the election, Chairman Mull said that he was committed to making the non-life insurance business of Nepal more systematic, transparent, fair and competitive. He expressed the belief that the association would play an effective role in enhancing the credibility of insurance sector, expanding business and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders.
The Association of Non-Life Insurance Entrepreneurs of Nepal is a representative organization established for the common interest, coordination and professional development of the non-life insurance companies of Nepal.
