Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank is organizing the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2026-Edition 5 from June 3 to June 3 at the Royal Sports Park in Chunikhel, Kathmandu. Like every year, this year too the cricket league is going to be organized on the occasion of the annual festival. The league is a reputed competition in the entire corporate sector with participation of banks and financial institutions, insurance companies as well as merchant banks licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank. A total of 45 matches will be held over four days with 240 players taking part in the tournament, including 9 commercial banks, 7 development banks, 3 finance companies, 1 microfinance company, 3 insurance companies and 1 merchant bank. The opening ceremony of the league will be held on Jestha 17 and the closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony will be held on June 5.
The winners and runners-up trophies and team jerseys were unveiled during the pre-tournament meet and tie sheet event held today and jerseys were distributed to the team captains.
A total of 45 matches will be played in the tournament to be held in league-cum-knockout format. The participating 24 teams will be divided into six groups from which the best team from each group will progress to the Super Six.
The match will be of 10 overs per innings. Machhapuchchhre Bank, NMB Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Kumari Bank, Everest Bank, Nabil Bank, Sanima Bank, Nepal Bank, Prabhu Bank, Garima Bikash Bank, Lumbini Bikas Bank, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, Jyoti Bikash Bank, Shangrila Development Bank, Shine Resunga Development Bank. ICFC Finance, Shree Investment and Finance Company Limited, Manjushree Finance, Swalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Sanima GIC Insurance, Siddhartha Premier Insurance, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance and NIMBS Ace Capital are participating in the meeting.
Prizes will be given to the winner, runner-up, man-of-the-series, best bowler, best batsman, wicket-keeper, best fielder, fair play award among others. All matches of the tournament will be broadcast through the Bank’s official social media (YouTube channel) and Newa Television and Newa Television’s YouTube channels.
