Kathmandu. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been conducting various programs under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in various areas such as financial literacy, education, health, natural disaster management, environment conservation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development/improvement, sustainable development goals, human service and philanthropic work.
Under this, the Bank in collaboration with Lumbini World Peace Forum has provided financial assistance to plant 2000 lemon saplings in Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality Ward No. 01, Kanda on the occasion of Earth Day. The work has been done with the objective of expanding green areas, strengthening local food security, using sustainable resources and creating employment to help livelihood in remote and climate vulnerable areas.
Similarly, the bank has provided financial support to the program organized to raise awareness about the early detection, prevention and treatment of cancer disease and to hand over the money collected from the program to the cancer ward of Kanti Children’s Hospital. On the occasion of Global Money Week 2026, the bank has distributed educational materials to the students of Shree Yuddha Sanskrit Secondary School, Nepalgunj, Banke with the objective of assisting them in their studies.
Similarly, the bank has provided financial support to the 7th Nepal Economic Olympiad with the objective of promoting responsible financial awareness and practical financial knowledge among the youth, expanding financial literacy, and supporting educational and knowledge-based social development. Recently, the Bank has organized financial literacy, rallies and awareness programs through various branches and regional offices of the Bank across the country on the occasion of Global Money Week 2026, which is celebrated on a week-long basis from March 2, 2082 to March 20, 2022. The Bank believes that such CSR activities will contribute to the overall economic and social development.
