Kathmandu. According to the bank’s policy, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been conducting various programs under Corporate Social Responsibility in different areas such as financial literacy, education, health, natural disaster management, environment conservation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development, sustainable development goals, human service and philanthropic activities.
Under this connection, the bank in association with Lions Club of Kathmandu has provided financial support to run a health camp at Gandhakuti Bihar Khokana, Ward No. 21, Lalitpur. The financial assistance has been provided for the diagnosis of cancer diseases such as breast, cervical cancer, colon cancer, diabetes and thyroid disease, general health check-up and dental check-up.
Likewise, in collaboration with Traffic Police Circle, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu to reduce road accidents, manage vehicles, and solve the problem of haphazard parking on roads, footpaths and various places, the department has handed over road furniture with various traffic signs.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, Sewing machines have been distributed to people from ward no 1 to 6 of Adanchuli Rural Municipality in Humla district with the objective of promotion, modernization and certification of traditional vocational skills, professions and arts. Likewise, financial assistance has been provided for the construction of playground of Shree Bhanu Secondary School situated at Bhanupath, Siddharthanagar-09, Rupandehi through the Bank’s Bhairahawa branch. The bank has helped to carry out the construction work required for the drainage of water by keeping the explosives in the playground.
The bank believes that such CSR activities will contribute to the overall economic and social development.
