Kathmandu. Madhesi Unity Society America organized a special program of Holi in Irving, Texas on Saturday, March 29. More than a hundred community members enthusiastically participated in the ‘Holi Dhamaka’ program organized by the Texas Chapter of the society. The participants of the program spread the message of mutual harmony and brotherhood by playing colors and abir.
The program was presided over by Surendra Ram, President of Texas Chapter. Extending Holi greetings to all present there, he said it was the common responsibility of all to protect and promote Nepal’s unique culture and tradition even while living abroad.
Senior vice-president of the society, Sanjay Jyamire, was also present on the occasion. Also present on the occasion were Prabin Bhandari, Spokesperson of the Consulate General of Nepal, Dallas, Tika Poudel, Deputy Mayor of Euless City, Bijaya Bhusal, President of Nepalese Society of Texas, Netra Pandey, President of Indreni Society, Sashi Yadav, International Vice President of the Society and representatives of various Nepali organizations.
On the occasion, speakers expressed the view that the Holi festival would give a message to maintain mutual relations, unity in diversity and preserve cultural identity.
The organizers would like to thank all the guests, participants and volunteers who helped to make the Holi special event a success.
