Kathmandu. In line with its continuous commitment towards environmental sustainability, Lumbini World Peace Forum in association with Nabil Bank Limited has launched a new project in Tokha Municipality Ward No. He has planted 200 avocado saplings at Gale Park in Ward No. 2.
The plantation drive was carried out as part of Nabil Bank’s “Nabil Green Week” week-long initiative to imbibe a sustainable approach to its corporate culture.
The plantation drive, which was organized with the objective of promoting urban greenery and taking concrete steps for climate recreation, saw enthusiastic participation from local people’s representatives, green volunteers, and local residents.
In the program, Tokha Municipality Ward No. Dharmendra Shrestha, chairman of Ward No. 2 and Manoj Kumar Gyawali, chief executive officer of Nabil Bank, were also present on the occasion. Similarly, Basu Gautam, Founder of Lumbini World Peace Forum and Coordinator of 10 Lakh Tree Plantation and Conservation Campaign, was also present in the program.
The program was attended by the staff of Nabil Bank and more than three dozen residents of the local ward.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manoj Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank emphasized on the paramount importance of environmental conservation in modern era. Reiterating that Nabil Bank is committed to aligning its institutional goals with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he further added that initiatives such as the Nabil Green Week aim to create a healthier and greener environment for the next generation.
Speaking on behalf of Lumbini World Peace Forum, Mr. Basu Gautam expressed his gratitude to Nabil Bank and local community for active participation. “The additional 200 avocado trees will not only increase the greenery of the city, but also provide long-term ecological and economic benefits to local parks and communities,” he said.
