Luitel appointed chairman of Nepal Micro Insurance Company

Kathmandu. There has been a change in the leadership of Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited. The meeting of the Board of Directors of the company held on June 27 and 28 accepted the resignation of four directors including the chairman and decided to appoint new chairman and directors.

According to the notice sent by the company to the regulatory bodies and related institutions, the resignation of Ashish Shrestha, chairman of the promoter group, has been accepted. Shrestha had resigned from the post of chairman and director on March 15.

The board of directors of the promoter group Siddhanta Jhunjhunwala, Latika Golyan and independent director Badri Sigdel have tendered their resignations.

The company has appointed new directors to fill the vacant positions. Narad Kumar Luitel, representative of Centrum Capital Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed as the Director of the company. Luitel’s appointment will remain in place until it is endorsed by the next general meeting.

Similarly, Ashok Prasad Sah of Biz World Advisory Pvt. Ltd. and Deepak Kumar Mishra of Centrum Capital Pvt. Ltd. have also been appointed as directors.

Similarly, Damodar Satyal has been appointed as an independent director. According to the company, all these appointments have been made on an interim basis until the next general meeting.

This leadership change in the company is seen as linked to the company’s upcoming strategic direction and institutional management. The new leadership is expected to play an important role in expanding the company’s business, good governance and increasing access to insurance services.
