Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has increased the limit on deposits in wallets targeting big festivals.
The central bank has amended the Unified Directive on the Payment System and increased the limit for depositing money in the wallet during the festival. Now, during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, in the case of a natural person, money can be deposited in the wallet up to 50 times in a day.
This facility can be availed from October 14 to November 22 and from November 21 to November 29.
Earlier, there was a facility to deposit money up to 10 times a day in the wallet of a natural person.
The Rastra Bank has emphasized on digital transactions rather than cash transactions during the festivals. Recently, the Rastra Bank had also urged the use of digital means while giving Dakshina during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
With the increase in the limit of depositing money in the wallet, this policy of the Rastra Bank seems to be meaningful.
