Judicial performance of NRA sluggish, 87% complaints yet to be cleared

Kathmandu. The judicial performance of the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) seems to be very slow. Current fiscal year 2082. According to the data of 83 months till January 2018, about 87 percent of the complaints are yet to be resolved.

According to the data made public by the NRA, 13 percent complaints have been settled in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. As of mid-January of the current fiscal year, 65 complaints have been registered at the central office and 26 at the province office.

As of February, a total of 64 complaints have been settled, including 46 complaints of verdict and 18 agreements. This is only 13.20 percent of the total number. Accordingly, 86.80 percent or 421 complaints are yet to be disposed of.

NRA officials say that the judicial execution work has not gained momentum due to the lack of full time of the Board of Directors and the change of the chairman time and again.
