Kathmandu. Did you know that all living things, plants, animals, and even humans, emit a very light and invisible glow? This glow is so dim that it cannot be seen with the naked eye. But in 2025, scientists from the University of Calgary in Canada used a special camera to observe and photograph it clearly for the first time. The discovery has sparked a global outcry. Some people are calling this light the energy that gives energy to the soul, the body, or the life force. But the truth is different.
What is this glow?
This glow is called biophoton or ultraviolet photon emission (UPE). This is not magic or the light of the Spirit. However, it is the result of normal chemical reactions in living cells. When cells produce energy (metabolism), electrons in certain molecules (such as mitochondria) are excited.
When these electrons return to their normal state, many light particles (photons) are emitted. This light is so weak that it emits only 10 to 1000 photons per square centimeter per second, millions of times less than normal light.
What does the research say?
The study was conducted by a team led by physicist Daniel Oblak of the University of Calgary.
- hairless rats were used. So that the hair does not block the light.
- Four live rats were kept in a completely dark room.
- The photo was taken for 1-2 hours with a special quantum camera (EMCCD camera).
- These cameras can also capture individual photons.
- A faint glow was seen all over the rouse’s body.
- The rats were then painlessly killed and photographed. The glow quickly disappeared.
Experiments were also carried out on plants: the leaves of the ewarf umbrella tree (Heptaplerum arboricola) also glowed. When the leaves were torn or heated, it brightened. This suggests that stress (stress) or injury increases the glow. Previously, this glow was only seen in cells or small areas. However, this is the first time it has been seen in the entire body.
Why is this brightness important?
It is connected to life: glow remains even while it is alive. It disappears after death. This proves that it is related to metabolism (the process of cells producing energy).
No mysticism: Some people call it aura or light of the spirit. However, scientists say that it is a purely physical and biochemical process.
Future Benefit
}
- In agriculture: Observing the brightness of the seeds without touching them can help determine whether they will germinate.
- Treatment: to detect tissue health or injury without surgery.
- To check the condition of crops or forests.
This discovery shows how wonderful life is. We all shine a little on the inside. But it’s not a miracle, it’s science. Further research could lead to applications in health and agriculture. Scientist Daniel Oblak says that this could be a new sign of life.
