Kathmandu. Now, non-life insurance companies will be able to provide third-party insurance for foreign-registered vehicles operating in Nepal.
The Insurance Authority of Nepal (NIA) has extended this facility to the insurers through a policy decision. Now, all licensed non-life insurers and micro non-life insurers will be able to provide third party insurance for the period of operation of vehicles registered abroad as per the Motor Insurance Rates Directive, 2073.
Prior to this, there was no provision of third-party insurance for vehicles registered abroad when they came to operate in Nepal.
