Kathmandu. The Professional Insurance Agents Association of Nepal (IA) has expedited the formation of branch committees of Himalayan Life Insurance Insurance. The committee has expedited the formation of committees in the branches of Bagmati Province.
According to Ashta Bahadur Shrestha, vice-chairperson of the insurance committee and coordinator of the organization department, the committees have been formed in New Road, Baneshwor, Koteshwor and Bhaisepati branches of Himalayan Life Insurance. According to Shrestha, the Baneshwor branch committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Pranil Gautam. Sumitra Chaulagain is the vice-chairperson, Sita Neupane is the secretary, Sita Dahal is the treasurer and Anita Dahal is the joint secretary. Dilliram Bhandari has been nominated as a member of the 11-member committee while other members are yet to be elected.
Similarly, New Road branch committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Asim Bhandari, Shrestha said. The convention elected Manju Gurung as vice-chairperson, Rupesh Dahal as secretary and Ramesh Katuwal as treasurer.
The elected members are Nirmala Mishra, Maya Tamang, Ashmita Simkhada and Narwati Pun. The other three members will be elected later. Meanwhile, Suman Shrestha has been elected the chairman of the Koteshwor branch committee. The convention elected Sumitra Adhikari as vice-chairperson, Badri Kumar Neupane as secretary, Ramesh Raj Ghimire as joint secretary and Anjana Acharya as treasurer.
Dharma Kumari Shah and Kumari Thami have been elected as members of the committee while 4 members will be added later, said coordinator Shrestha. Sonu Baral has been elected as the chairperson of Bhaisepati branch. Gagan Bahadur Saud has been elected the vice-chairperson, Binju Shrestha the secretary, Manita Karki the joint secretary and Doma Sherpa the treasurer. Coordinator of Organization Department Ashta Bahadur Shrestha said that the committee would be given full shape by adding 6 other members later.
The program was chaired by Bagmati Province Committee Chairman Chiranjivi Gajurel and was attended by Damodar Gautam, Vice President of Professional Insurance Agents Association Nepal. The program was also attended by Professional Insurance Agents Association Nepal Secretary Ambika Gautam, member Nanimaya Sapkota, Secretary of Insurance Prahlad Timilsina, Joint Secretary Pragati Thapa, Bagmati Province Committee member Balaram Karki, among others.
