Insurance Board directs health providers to provide quality health services

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has directed the health providing health institutions to provide quality health services to the insured.

The board issued a press release today. “Provide quality health services as per the standards set under the health insurance program without creating any kind of obstruction or difficulty in the treatment of the insured customers,” the statement reads.

The health institutions have also been urged to make responsible and utilizing health insurance services to all the insured people, not to demand unnecessary services or tests, not to pressure doctors and health workers for more tests and treatment than necessary, and to play a significant role in maintaining the sustainability and effectiveness of the health insurance program.

According to the press release, the Insurance Board has paid a total of Rs 23.44 billion to the health institutions on different dates of the current fiscal year. According to the board, this payment is till December 2082. According to the Board, efforts are being made with the concerned bodies to manage the budget required to pay the claims after November.
