Kathmandu. The deadline extended by the Nepal Insurance Authority for the second time for updating the identity details of surveyors and determining the portfolio is also on the verge of expiring.

The NRA had first published a public notice on July 30 informing the surveyors to update the personal details and determine the portfolio by July 10. The Insurance Regulatory Management Information System (IRMIS), the integrated information system of the authority, has been issued a notice on July 9 and the deadline has been extended till August 26.

In the notice published by the authority for the second time, it has been mentioned that the time for submitting applications for the portfolio of insurance surveyors has been extended due to the problem in the integrated system of the Insurance Authority.

According to the surveyor, the system of updating the details of institutional surveyors in the information technology system prepared by the Authority has not worked. The surveyors have complained that the problem has not been resolved even after complaining to the NRA about the failure to update the details despite repeated attempts.

The representative of the Institutional Surveyor said that it was not expected that the regulator would not be able to build a reliable system, complaining that they were only getting the answer that they were building the system.
