KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar has submitted its annual progress report for the fiscal year 2082/83 to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning. The annual progress report containing the major programs, activities and achievements of the provincial office has been submitted to the Honorable Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of Koshi Province, Bidur Kumar Lingthep. Rajendra Maharjan, Provincial Chief of Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office, presented the annual report containing the status of progress report made by the Insurance Authority to the Honorable Minister.
The report incorporates the major activities of the office in the fiscal year 2082/83, including the insurance awareness and orientation programs, interaction with various stakeholders, expansion of insurance access and various initiatives for the development of insurance sector.
During the presentation of the report, discussions were held on the present status of insurance sector in Koshi Province, expanding the access of insurance and increasing awareness among the general public about the importance and necessity of insurance.
Discussions were also held on the possibility of conducting various insurance programs targeted at the general public by coordinating and collaborating between the provincial government and the Nepal Insurance Authority in the coming days. Emphasis was also laid on expanding the reach of insurance-related information and services to the rural areas of the province, making the citizens more aware of insurance and strengthening coordination among the concerned bodies for the effective address of insurance-related problems and complaints.
The meeting is expected to create a basis for further collaboration and coordination between the provincial government and the Insurance Authority in the coming days to increase the access and effectiveness of insurance in Koshi Province.
