Kathmandu. The Indian government has imposed a ban on the import of silver.
The central government of India has issued a circular banning the import of silver. Now, 99.9 per cent pure silver bars, unwrought silver, silver powder and gold or platinum plated silver will have to be imported from the government.
Prior to this, silver was easily imported to India. However, it is now placed in the restrictive category.
The Indian government has taken this step to reduce non-essential imports and control foreign exchange spending. –Agency
