Kathmandu. Himalayan Reinsurance has handed over the assistance amount to the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River with the aim of providing immediate relief, rescue and reconstruction. The company’s officials reached the Ministry of Finance and handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.
Santosh KC, Acting CEO of Himalayan Re-Insurance, Ashish Neupane, Board Member and Underwriting Head Didarshan Nepal were also present during the handover ceremony.
On the occasion, the representatives of the company expressed their commitment to the continuous support of the private sector in the efforts of the state for the rescue and rehabilitation of the residents of the affected areas in this difficult time of natural calamity. Receiving the amount, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle expressed his gratitude for the social responsibility and support shown by Himalayan Reinsurance in this difficult situation.
The devastating floods have so far caused a large number of human casualties and extensive damage to private houses, hydropower projects and physical infrastructure. The government and various agencies are engaged in relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
