KATHMANDU: Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) and Smart Choice Technologies Limited (SCT) have signed an agreement to operate and collaborate with Smart Pay IBFT (Interbank Fund Transfer).
With TAG_OPEN_p_22 this agreement, Himalayan Bank has joined SCT’s Smart Pay network. Now, the bank’s customers will be able to transfer funds between accounts of various banks and financial institutions in an easy, secure and efficient manner through Smart Pay IBFT.
Developed and operated by SCT, Smart Pay is a service that facilitates the transfer of funds between banks, financial institutions, wallets, and remittance companies through digital means. This service has been helping to further strengthen Nepal’s digital payment system by maintaining interconnection between various financial institutions.TAG_OPEN_p_21
The agreement is expected to make it easier for Himalayan Bank’s customers to send and receive funds to other banks and financial institutions. In addition, this service will help expand financial transactions through digital means and increase financial access.TAG_OPEN_p_20
TAG_OPEN_p_19 SCT, which is licensed by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Payment System Operator, has launched the SCT card, Nepal’s first domestic card. The company currently operates various payment services including various banks and financial institutions, wallet companies, remittance companies, and cooperatives.
SCT operates a network that issues and accepts SCT UnionPay, Visa, Mastercard, NepalPay, Discover and RuPay cards. The company also provides services such as ATM, Point of Sale (POS), Internet and Mobile Banking, Smart QR and Money Transfer.TAG_OPEN_p_18
