“Today, many Nepalis are not only interested in foreign travel and search for better opportunities but also compulsion. “The immigration administration is doing its best to control fraud and exploitation at various levels by addressing this compulsion of the citizens,” the statement reads. The departure process has been simplified and systematicized so that one can go abroad with self-declaration if one has air ticket to the destination country and visa of the concerned country. ’

The Department is also working in the areas of strengthening national security by making policy facilitation and further modernization of immigration system to make the arrival and departure of passengers hassle-free. “As there is no policy or decision of the Immigration Administration to allow the departure of any Nepali citizen by setting conditions contrary to the law, the process of internal investigation has been initiated to take action against the employees involved in illegal exercise by going against the prevailing laws and departmental decisions,” the statement reads.
