Global IME Bank Announces 10% Dividend

KATHMANDU: The 20th Annual General Meeting of Global IME Bank Limited was held at Nepal Police Club, Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on Friday. The meeting unanimously approved a proposal to distribute a total dividend of 10 percent of the paid-up capital to its shareholders from the profit of the fiscal year 2082/83. Out of this, 4 percent bonus shares and 6 percent cash dividend with tax purposes.

The meeting approved the annual report and consolidated financial statements presented by the chairman of the bank, Chandra Prasad Dhakal. During the review period, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 6.04 billion, which is 15.90 percent higher than the previous financial year. Similarly, the operating profit of the bank stood at Rs 9.60 billion. With the distribution of bonus shares, the bank’s paid-up capital has reached Rs 39.68 billion.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman Dhakal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the shareholders for their unwavering trust and continued support. He said that the bank has been able to successfully complete its glorious journey of two decades due to the support and cooperation of the customers, shareholders, regulatory bodies and all well-wishers.

He reiterated his commitment to fully comply with the policies and directives of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank and expand the bank in a more secure, reliable and balanced manner. He also informed that more investment will be made in the digital banking system to provide more convenient and modern services to the customers.

The meeting also approved a proposal to authorize the Board of Directors to amend the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of the Bank as per necessity.

The AGM was attended by representatives of regulatory bodies, shareholders, institutional investors and media persons.

The bank has been making a significant contribution to the national economy by receiving remittances from various countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and India.

The bank has also handed over a sum of Rs. 5,75,92,000 to Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund (PMLF) for immediate relief and rescue of the affected people affected by the recent floods in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.
