Foundation stone laid for construction of administrative building of Institute of Science and Technology

Kathmandu. The foundation stone of the administrative building of the Institute of Science and Technology under Tribhuvan University has been laid. The foundation stone of the building was jointly laid by the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa and Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Shankar Prasad Khanal.

The building, which is going to be constructed behind the Office of the Controller of Examinations of Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur, is going to be constructed from the own resources of the Institute of Science and Technology. Simpani RLEV JV has been awarded the responsibility for the construction of the building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 9,45,78,444.45 crore. The construction period of the building, which is a consultancy service consultant of the Institute of Engineering Studies, has been fixed till August 11, 2084.

Dean Khanal said that the construction of modern administrative infrastructure required to systematize the growing academic and administrative activities of the Institute of Science and Technology has been taken forward with special priority. At a time when the day-to-day administrative work of the Dean’s Office is facing difficulties due to the lack of separate and adequate administrative buildings, the construction of the new building is expected to make the service delivery of the institute more effective and systematic.

Addressing the program organized after laying the foundation stone, Vice-Chancellor Thapa said that originality, quality and sustainability should be given special priority in the infrastructure construction of the university. Stating that the university buildings should be safe from the point of view of natural disasters and useful for the long term, he directed the construction company to complete the construction of the buildings within the stipulated time without compromising the quality of the construction work.

On the occasion, Dean Khanal said that the construction of the building has been prioritized to solve the difficulties seen in the day-to-day operation of the corporation due to the lack of administrative building. He expressed the belief that the new building would make significant contribution to make the administrative work of the corporation more systematic, effective and service-oriented.

Newly appointed Rector of Tribhuvan University Prof Dr Anjana Maharjan Singh, Registrar Dr Rabindra Shiwakoti, Deans of various Faculties and Heads of Departments, Executive Directors, Directors and Heads of Departments of the Institute of Science and Technology were present on the occasion.

The program was conducted by Dr. Komal Raj Rijal, Assistant Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology. The completion of the new administrative building is expected to further ease the administrative service delivery, academic coordination, and institutional activities of the Institute of Science and Technology.
