Forward Microfinance provides Rs 30 lakh assistance to Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi flood victims

Kathmandu. Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has donated money to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the victims of the Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi floods on August 26.

Company Secretary of the organization, Binod Kumar Chaudhary, said that Forward Microfinance has provided a cash amount of Rs 3 million 665 to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts.

The financial institution has also requested to work effectively in the rescue and relief with the wishes of eternal peace to the souls of those who died in the incident and for the speedy recovery of the injured. The organization will also deposit the amount in the fund and distribute daily utility items to the flood affected people. The organization has deposited Rs 30 lakh 665 from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund and Rs 14 lakh 665 collected from the employees.

Bhagbati Chaudhary, president of the organization, said that the government is involved in the campaign for the country and the people at a time when the country is in the grip of disaster. “This is purely nation-building and humanitarian aid. Although the financial assistance is provided through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, the organization itself will distribute other commodities to the victims.

Forward Microfinance is a national-level financial institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank. It provides financial services to women from poor and underprivileged communities through 159 branches in 40 districts of Nepal. The organization has 2,84,000 customer members.
