Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the government to furnish clarification regarding the sacking of the then chairman and directors of Karnali Development Bank.
The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on December 26, 2001 had declared Karnali Development Bank as a ‘problematic institution’ as per Section 86B of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 BS. The central bank has taken control of the management of the bank in accordance with Section 86C of the Act until further arrangement.
Issuing a notice, NRB has asked the then chairman of the bank Dr Om Prakash Mishra and directors Yubaraj Adhikari, Usha Kumari Bhandari, Tanka Bahadur Basnet and Nisar Ahmad Darji to furnish clarification and clarification on the sacking of the bank. Earlier, the Nepal Rastra Bank had sought clarification from them on October 11 but did not respond to them.
The NRB has given them 10 days to submit clarification and explanation if there is any reason for their dismissal. They can submit their clarification and clarification to the Central Bank’s Financial Institution Supervision Department at Baluwatar, Kathmandu, the NRB office in Nepalgunj or the management group of Karnali Development Bank in Nepalgunj.
