Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is to invest Rs 7.35 billion in fixed deposits of banks.
The money in the central bank’s pension fund is to be invested in the fixed deposits of the banks. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged banks to offer interest rates by 7 pm on January 15.
Out of the total amount, the central bank will invest Rs 5.88 billion in commercial banks, Rs 1.10 billion in national level development banks and Rs 367.5 million in national level finance companies.
According to the central bank, this investment will be for 366 days from January 21, 2026 to January 21, 2027.
