Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to invest Rs 1.10 billion in fixed deposits of banks.
The amount is being invested in the Employees Security Fund of the central bank in fixed deposits of the banks. For this, the central bank has called on the banks to propose the interest rate by 7 pm on February 27.
Out of the total amount, NRB will invest Rs 88 lakh crore in commercial banks, Rs 165 million in national level development banks and Rs 55 million in national level finance companies.
The investment will be held for 366 days from February 27, 2026 to February 27, 2027.
