Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to invest Rs 7 billion in fixed deposits of banks.
The amount is being invested in the pension and gratuity fund of the central bank in fixed deposits of the banks. For this, the central bank has called on the banks to propose the interest rate by 7 pm on May 20.
Out of the total amount, NRB will invest Rs 5.60 billion in commercial banks, Rs 1.05 billion in national level development banks and Rs 350 million in national level finance companies.
According to the central bank, this investment will be for 366 days from May 22, 2026 to May 22, 2027.
