Kathmandu. In a shocking incident, a murder has come to light in Nizamabad district of Telangana, India. It has been revealed that a woman killed her husband with her lover and contract killers. During interrogation, the accused woman confessed that she killed her husband to get an insurance claim of more than Rs 2 crore.
The case pertains to the murder of Palnati Ramesh, a resident of Borgam village in Makalur mandal of Nizamabad district. Ramesh had married Soumya, a resident of Jannepalli village in Navipet mandal, around 13 years ago. Ramesh worked in a private finance company while Soumya was a teacher in a private school in Nizamabad.
According to the police, Soumya had an illicit relationship with Dilip, a PET teacher at the same school. Ramesh came to know about this relationship and repeatedly protested. Soumya and Dilip then started plotting to kill Ramesh.
As part of the plan, Dilip contacted his relative Abhishek, a resident of Madapur village in Makalur mandal. Abhishek introduced Dilip to contract killer Jeetendra. Three others were also involved in the conspiracy to kill Jeetendra. Soumya pledged her ring and made an advance of Rs 35,000.
In August 2025, contract killers tried to ramp Ramesh’s bike into a car while he was on his way to Nizamabad from Armoor. Ramesh survived the attack and lodged a complaint with the Makalur police station. The police also registered a case in this regard.
Then Soumya and Dilip looked for another chance. On December 19, after dinner, Soumya gave Ramesh 10 sleeping pills of water. When he fell into a deep sleep, Soumya called Dilip. Unable to contact the contract killer, Dilip took Abhishek to Borgam village. The two men strangled Ramesh with a towel and suffocated him with a pillow.
After the murder, Soumya claimed that she had suffered a heart attack and the body was cremated and buried on the ground. However, Ramesh’s brother Kethir, who lives in Israel, got suspicious and filed a complaint with the Makalur police from abroad. The body was exhumed on December 24 and a second post-mortem was conducted in the presence of the tehsildar. Which confirmed the murder.
The police have arrested Soumya, her boyfriend Dilip, Abhishek and members of the contract killer gang and sent them to judicial custody. One of the accused, Mohsin, is absconding and a search is on for him. During interrogation, it was also revealed that Ramesh had an insurance policy of more than Rs 2 crore in his name and this entire conspiracy was hatched to get that amount.
