Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle led a two-member delegation to the United States of America on Sunday night.
Finance Minister Wagle was welcomed by Charge d’ Affaires Sharad Raj Aran and Embassy officials in Washington DC. During the visit, Minister Wagle will meet US Secretary of the Treasury (Secretary of the Treasury) and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga on Monday with an aim to strengthen Nepal’s economic partnership and cooperation.
During the meeting, discussions will be held on increasing bilateral cooperation, reconstruction, exiting the FATF grey list and comprehensive economic reforms.
During the meeting, I will discuss with the representatives of the World Bank and the US government regarding the reconstruction of physical and economic infrastructure damaged by the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi region and mobilizing additional assistance for sustainable development.
In addition to this, the main objective of the visit is to increase investment by development partners and private sector to create employment and economic opportunities in the country through important infrastructure such as road, electricity transmission line.
During the visit, Finance Minister Wagle is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with the high-ranking officials of the International Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) and leading investors from the private sector.
