Kathmandu. Vehicles using the Nagdhunga tunnel road will have to pay fees from November 30.
The Nagdhunga Tunnel Construction Project has issued a notice informing that the fee will be charged for the use of the road. According to the decision of the Executive Committee of the Road Board of Nepal on September 12 and the notice published in the Nepal Gazette on April 12, 2008, the fee has been charged according to the class of vehicles for the use of the tunnel.
As per the notice, class 1 vehicles i.e. cars, vans, pickups, tractors, microbuses and other light vehicles have to pay Rs 65 for entering Kathmandu and Rs 60 for exiting Kathmandu.
Similarly, class 2 i.e. mini-bus, mini tipper or truck will have to pay Rs 115 for entering Kathmandu and Rs 80 for exiting Kathmandu. Category 3 i.e. buses and trucks will have to pay Rs 260 for entering Kathmandu and Rs 200 for exit.
Square 4 i.e. multi-axle trucks and heavy equipment have to pay Rs 600 for entering Kathmandu and Rs 250 for exiting Kathmandu.
