Kathmandu. The heads of NATO and the European Commission have warned that Russia is adopting increasingly irresponsible and reckless behavior. They have said that new measures should be taken to prevent such incidents.
Germany blamed Russia for an attempted drone attack on Germany’s Leipzig airport last month. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said: “The incident in Leipzig represents a new level of rising tension on EU soil, which is directly linked to Russia.” ’
“We have to step up our actions, and that means being prepared to respond faster and more effectively to this irresponsible behaviour of Russia,” Leon said. ’
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said that the entire NATO alliance, including the United States, stands in full solidarity with Germany. Russia has denied German accusations that an explosive-laden drone deliberately targeted a Ukrainian cargo plane on August 4.
The drone was disabled by a robot at Leipzig Airport. The second drone is believed to have collided with another cargo plane.
According to the report, a third drone was also found at the airport 10 days later. The airport is a major hub for NATO and is regularly visited by Ukrainian Antonov transport planes.
