Kathmandu. Nepal’s leading payment service provider company, eSewa, is going to organize “eSewa Hackathon 2026” in Sauraha of Chitwan from May 29 to 29. The hackathon is being organized by eSewa in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), an international non-governmental organization working in the field of wildlife and environment conservation.
With 17 years of works in the area of easy and secure payment system, expansion of digital economy, and financial inclusion, eSewa has been carrying out various works under innovation, youth empowerment and social responsibility.
The purpose of the hackathon is to promote a culture of innovation, seek digital solutions and promote youth entrepreneurship in Nepal. A total of 63 youngsters from 20 selected teams from all over the country will compete in the hackathon.
Speaking about the hackathon, Chief Executive Officer of eSewa, Jagadish Khadka said that the hackathon would be effective in promoting problem-solving thinking among youths, build technology-savvy solutions and contribute to sustainable development.

We believe efforts like these will help foster innovative thinking and creativity among youth, play a significant role in promoting safe and secure FinTech ecosystem and environmental protection.” ”
The hackathon’s participants will showcase their fintech designs and prototypes of solutions that can be deployed immediately. This is expected to encourage innovation and building digital systems that contribute to environmental and social impact.
Throughout the hackathon, participants will receive live mentorship and mentorship from leaders in the fintech, cybersecurity and information technology sectors, to help teams build the best solutions. With the help of mentors, the participants will get an opportunity to refine their ideas.
The teams that present the best solution and prototype in the three-day residential competition will be rewarded with attractive cash prizes. The winner of the tournament will get a cash prize of three lakhs, while the second and third place teams will get two lakhs and the third prize winners.
