eSewa enters 17th year

Speaking in the program organized on the occasion of 17th anniversary and Innovation Day, Parshuram Kunwar Chhetri, Chairman of eSewa, said that they will continue to work to make eSewa better, safer and more reliable as Nepal’s leading payment service provider. “eSewa is committed to contribute positively to society through the expansion of digital financial services in collaboration with regulatory bodies, users, society and all stakeholders.”

Similarly, Chief Executive Officer of eSewa, Jagadish Khadka said that the service is always inclusive of all and moves forward together. He said that the 17-year journey of eSewa has made the Nepali company capable to compete in the world level.

On the occasion of its 17th anniversary, eSewa has also expanded its facilities. On this occasion, eSewa has introduced user-centric solutions like talkback for visually impaired and low vision users, intent-based payments that make payments easier and faster, and eSewa CircleChat.

The details of these features are as follows

eSewa Talkback: eSewa has introduced a talkback feature for blind or low vision users. eSewa is the first payment provider in Nepal to launch talkback service. Under this feature, what is on the screen is converted into sound. With this, users can easily understand and use buttons, names and tasks. The talkback is available in both English and Nepali languages. It is believed to promote digital financial independence and inclusivity by allowing the blind to use eSewa freely.

Intent-Based Payment: eSewa has made the payment process faster and simpler with the introduction of intent-based payment. Intent based payment is a fast, secure, and hassle-free payment system that works on the user’s desire to make payments. In this system, the payment starts from the place where the user has to pay. By clicking on ‘Everything Dhajj Bhakdhab’ on the merchant app or website, the eSewa app will be opened directly or the payment will be accepted through device level authentication (fingerprint or Face ID), thus eliminating the hassle of MPIN, password or OTP. This reduces the problem of pauses during payment process and provides users with a safe, convenient and secure experience to complete the transaction in a few seconds.

eSewa Circle Chat: The chat feature of TAG_CLOSE_strong_22 the eSewa Circle has now been added to the eSewa Circle. In this, users get the ability to add friends, create groups, split bills, send gifts, comment, react. It also eliminates the hassle of going to another app with your friends after sharing the bill collectively. It is believed that the conversation in the group chat will always be easier, so it will make communication and transactions between friends easier.
