Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Election Commission (EC) has recommended the government to give a three-day public holiday in view of the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4.
Writing a letter to the government today, the EC has recommended a 3-day holiday during the election. The commission has recommended a public holiday on March 3, 24 and 7.
Similarly, Holi falls in the hilly districts on March 2 (Monday) and Fagu Fernima (Holi) on March 2 (Tuesday). If the government decides to declare a holiday as recommended by the commission, it will be a holiday for about a week during the election period.
