Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Durga Raj Shrestha has announced his candidacy for the post of president of the Bagmati Province of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Shrestha, who is the vice-chairperson of the current working committee, has announced his candidacy for the post of president for the next term.
Shrestha has announced his candidacy for the post of president with the agenda of developing physical infrastructures of Bagmati Province Federation, focusing on capacity development of District Municipal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Commodity Associations and formulating economic and industrial policy targeting small and medium enterprises.
He also pledged to work on the issues ranging from tax system and accounting system to measurement by linking the chambers of commerce and commerce of the geography of Bagmati Province, all commodity associations and associate members with the local level and provincial government. Shrestha also said that he plans to make policy arrangements for the local administration to work together with the concerned Chambers of Commerce and Industry to formulate clear standards for market monitoring to end the harassment and harassment faced by entrepreneurs in the name of market monitoring.
He started his professional career in 2062 BS and became the executive committee member and president of Nepal Distributors Association. He had successfully served as the President of Distributors Association from 2074 to 2076.
He is the founder of Kathmandu Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is currently the general secretary of the association, where he is a founding member. Not only this, he is also the executive member of ‘Nepal-Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry’, representing Nepal’s industrial and business sector internationally.
Shrestha, who graduated from Pokhara University with an MBA degree, said he announced his candidacy for the post of president with a commitment to work hard with the state government to focus on resolving the problems of industrialists and businessmen.
