Kathmandu. Dr KC has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board. Krishna Prasad Poudel assumed office on Wednesday.
The post had remained vacant after former Executive Director Dr Raghu Raj Kafle resigned from his post on Sunday due to differences with the Health Minister. Kafle was appointed to the post of executive director on March 11, 2081 on the recommendation of the then Health Minister Pradeep Poudel.
Most of the executive directors who have been appointed to the establishment of the Insurance Board have not been able to work for a full term without interruption. The non-cooperation of the Ministry of Health and the limited budget allocation by the Ministry of Finance have often seen a bitter relationship between the executive director of the board and the government.
