Kathmandu. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Agricultural Modernization Programme (NAAMP) and Connect Kisan Pvt Ltd. The agreement was signed by Rajan Dahal, director of Connect Kisan, and Hikmat Kumar Shrestha, programme director of National Agriculture Modernization Programme.
The agreement aims to make it easier for Nepali farmers to solve their agricultural problems through a digital platform. The voice-based and text-based AI advisory technologies developed by Connect Kisan will provide direct assistance to farmers in their fields. In this system, farmers will be able to get immediate solutions or suggestions for the problems faced by them while working in the fields, such as fertilizer, market, and pest management.
Rajan Dahal, Director of Connect Kisan, said that in India, tech-savvy farmers are using AI to increase production. He says that if farmers see policy problems or market-related challenges, or if there is a need for research related to diseases and pests in farming, they can send this information through AI technology. The information sent will be collected and used by NAAMP to take the necessary steps. He said, “Our AI system is able to give personalized agricultural advice to the farmers. ”
Program Director of the National Agriculture Modernization Programme Hikmat Kumar Shrestha said that the agreement was signed with connect farmers to provide digital platform to help solve the problems of farmers.
He said, “Farmers will be able to get immediate solution to any problem they face in their fields.” In addition, technical and research teams will also assist for large or complex problems. ”
The agreement aims to solve the problems of farmers in the long run. Shrestha said that the data will be created on the AI system to solve the agricultural policy challenges such as lack of access to market, shortage of fertilizers, disease management and other problems.
ConnectKisan’s AI technology is a digital platform that provides services such as agricultural consultations, pest management, fertilizer and seed suggestion, market information, etc., according to the needs of the farmers. This system is expected to make it easier for farmers to make direct decisions on their fields and help increase agricultural production.
