KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has urged all sides concerned to resolve the situation that has arisen in Dewangunj rural municipality-3, Captain Gunj and then some districts of eastern Nepal. “Nepal has been maintaining religious tolerance, mutual unity and social harmony since centuries. It is necessary to maintain social, religious and communal tolerance while maintaining this uniqueness. ’
Stating that there are plenty of examples that any problem, dissatisfaction or dispute has been resolved through dialogue, it has called on one and all to maintain peace and order, social and religious harmony in the country by adopting restraint and mutual goodwill.
“The country’s economy is in trouble. At a time when it is very important to grow the overall economy by creating jobs, such incidents disappoint everyone. “The incidents of vandalism, closure of markets and shops and looting of public and private properties, loss of life and property, and looting during the agitation have made us extremely saddened and worrisome, requesting the government to ensure full security to the general public and industries and businesses,” reads the statement.
Likewise, it has also urged all the province and district associations of the CNI and other organizations of the private sector to carry out activities to help establish peace in the country by organizing goodwill rallies in collaboration with other organizations of the society to maintain goodwill while maintaining social, religious and communal tolerance in the country.
